Phillip Polk's accounting career spans 27 years, from positions as a staff accountant to company CFO, and finally to his current title as Senior Partner. His career has taken him from Tampa, Florida, to Anchorage, Alaska.
Phillip attended college at Pensacola State College, the University of South Florida, the University of West Florida, Nichols State University, and the University of Anchorage Alaska, earning a BA in Theology and a BA in Business Administration with a specialization in Accounting Science. He is currently pursuing an MA in Public Administration from Liberty University. He is a licensed CAM through the state of Florida, and has been a QuickBooks ProAdvisor for 17 years.
Phillip is also a small businessman as owner of four companies: Gulf Coast Accounting Services, LLC in Pace and Destin; Lagniappe Management Group, LLC in Destin; Association Management Services in Santa Rosa Beach, a condo/HOA management company; and Ruby Farms in Milton.
Phillip is happily married to Carla, with whom he has raised seven children. The Polk family currently resides in Milton, Florida, living on the farm where Phillip was raised. In his free time, Phillip enjoys public speaking, fishing, carpentry, golf, and restoring old trucks.
Sylvia Wheeler is an Enrolled Agent with the Internal Revenue Service—a federally-authorized tax practitioner who has technical expertise in the field of taxation and who is empowered by the U.S. Department of the Treasury to represent taxpayers before all administrative levels (examination, collection, and appeals) of the IRS. She has been active in the tax and accounting field for over 21 years, moving from a processor role to a supervisory position.
Sylvia has been with Gulf Count Accounting Services since the company’s inception in 2011; after six years of outstanding performance, she was named Executive Director and head of the Pace branch office. She attended college at Pensacola State College, studying computer science and accounting. She has taught many classes on tax processing, from introductory courses to advanced.
Throughout her eight years with Gulf Coast Accounting Services, Sylvia has maintained a philosophy of professional excellence through personalized customer service. Whether it’s preparing a payroll return, delivering P&L reports, or notarizing documents, Sylvia is always happy to offer effective, knowledgeable, and friendly assistance to her clients.
Sylvia is a lifelong Pace resident. She and her husband, Gerry, enjoy traveling, camping, and spending time with their two dogs, Lady and Jazzy.
